My reflection day# 8and #9

After the 8th and 9th days, I have done some tasks: Esnips, posting tasks, Image editing and twitter.

In Esnips I can save many kinds of files in my account and can use them from any computer without remembering to bring USB with me to everywhere.Maybe my colleagues have never created any websites yet. I can help them how to create their own websites.They can post their lesson plans, presentation.... I think this website is useful for us.

Posting your tasks: log in efl537.com by your username, then click your username, the screen appears your profile, then click Create /Blod entry, paste it to Infan View and attach with your text.

Image editing:at the beggining I didn't download the Infan view so I couldn't do the task.Once again, jeff helped me deal with this and sucess smiled at me.Later, I myself found that this task could be done with paint.Infan view is a software that you can edit images or pictures.You can crop, resize and save images or pictures with gif,.. it allows you post images or pictures in websites or your lesson plan

My reflection day#7

Today is november 10th, 2009.
It's the seven day of our course.I come to class as usual.My assignment is making presentation part 2.Firstly, I receive your guide but it seems tobe difficult and I don't understand much.I read the instruction carefully, discuss with my classmates, then I do as the instruction.I open my slideshare, get file and save.Then I meet difficultly in google docs. My assignment consists of 24 slides,the dowload work is very slow,first I failed then I turn off the computer, I tried again and continue finishing the dowload.Then I share in efl537.com, finish my presentation but when I finish I still don't understand about"esnips page".Please explain it for me.After this lesson, I understand more new things.I can apply in my teaching job.

My reflection day#6

Today is November 9th,2009.It's the first day of the second week .I come to class as usual.The first thing I do , I open my computer, read the work on day 6.I answer the questionare, then I work with my bookmark.Now I have enough bookmarks: 30 bookmarks- efl537. When I finished my bookmark, I check again but I don't know it'strue or false because sometimes it's 30 or 35. Next, I write my daily reflection, and thenI'll read the reading comment assignment3 and 4.

Yesterday I saw my class profiles, I saw some of my classmates are very workhard at the weekend for example Tu, I know that but I can't catch up with him because I had many things to do: my work, my family.I'll try my best to finish .

Now my classmates are trying to finish their bookmarks.

My reflection day #5

Today I come to class as usual.I can use computer better than yesterday. I can access the websites quickly that you post.It was one more hardworking day for all of us after four days with many problems we had met. For example, I couldn't contact with you through skype, I could only watch, read and do as the guides and tasks sent on Internet. You seems realized the problems we got and you guided us clearly.We often ask each other for instructions, sometimes the instructions are different. Some of us become stress ad worried.Then I step undrstand I can do the tasks.I share my information and trouble to find the best way of learning with my classmates.

We are busy to discuss in group, some of us have just completed, some are trying to complete. But One thing I wonder is the last assignment in socialbookmark. I think this assignment is very difficult for me to do.Please help me the clearly guide for this. Thank you very much.Goodbye and have a nice weekend.

My reflection day#4

Hi, Jeff. This is the fourth day of our course. Today we continue complete the week #1 assignments. Yesterday, most of us complete three assignments and today we complete audiotask and hotpotatoes, but the task hotpotatoes we have problem with the link. Yesterday I'm nervous about the six tasks, but when I receive your comment I can finish the six tasks all the week 1.
Today I'm busy to finish the task so I don't have time to chat with you. Now I try my best to complete the task. I'll read the reading assignment and I'll tonight.First I think the audiotask and hot potatoes are difficult but after reading carefully, I know it's not difficult becdause we often ask each other for instructions, sometimes the instructions are different.Some of us become worried and stress then I realize by some help not only me but many have problems.But step by step we'll overcome the difficulties.

Firstly, everything isnot smooth because we have some problem with EFL537 link.After that, it is better.The work continue very well.We can do with EFL537. You guide us the link: http://sites.google.com/site/efl537/day-3.

We listen your guide about editing student profile.Then I complete my profile because yesterday I couldn't.Now I feel better because I finish something.

Secondly, I contact with you on skype,but I don't know why I can't contact with you, I feel bored and nervous. Next ,I chat on efl537. You required us to send on Google doc and share with my classmates through efl537.Now I am trying to do it.Your guide is clearly.I'll read it carefully.

My comment about the first reading assignment

How I learned English in the pre- Internet age and why you can do it faster

First of all, I'll say something about how I learned English in the pre-Internet age. I started learning English when I was in grade 6, no one had heard about the Internet at that time.At school I learned English from my teacher and at home I read book.I couldn't read blogs, forums, and other websites on topics that I found interesting.The things wasn't so bad until I had an entrance exam to Internation High School (English Department). I had major problems finding resources about: grammar, exercises, vocabulary, phonetic, and four skills. So I started finding through Internet. Thanks Internet I passed the entrance exam.From then to now I see Internet become very important for me.

I often search on Internet to read news, listen to music,watch film, chat with my friends, find information to help my study.Everything have on Internet. When I stress, I often watct funny clips from You tube.I often spend some hours a day on the web. I often read websites on my favourite topics: shopping, health, medicine, news, especially material for my teaching.Now I can make my lesson plan on powerpoint, but not fluently. I need to learn more and more with the hope that to catch up with everybody and the development of the world.

Hi Jeff, today is the second day of the course. I see it passes quickly but I can't do anything. I think I'm not lazy but I'm bad at internet. Some of my classmates contact with you by skype, but I can't. I try my best, I call you many but failed.
The second thing is , I make account(delicious.com). My account: http://delicious.com/nguyenthilien. when you click here you answer I have problem with this, but till now I don't understand what step I do next .I know delicious .com is an on line social bookmaking website which helps me to share and discover new on line bookmarks.
The third thing is, slideshares.net is excellent database program for cataloguing my slide collection. You can take a look at Http://www slideshare.net/nguyenlien2807.
I hope I'm better tomorrow I'll try my best.

Daily Reflection Day#1
Hi Jeff. How are you?. I'm very happy to meet you. I'd like to introduce myself. My full name is Lien Nguyen Thi. I was born on March 8th, 1978. I got married and had a child. My son is nearly 5 years old. Now I'm living in the countryside. It's about 50 km from my house to the university. I often go to the university by motorbike.It takes me about one and a half hour.

The EFL537 course is from 2nd to 13th november.I'm very interested in this course especially working with you. Today I come to class very early, I copme at 7.30 A.M because we have three weeks off after one month with Rosemary as you know. I'm very happy to meet my classmates again. All of them are ,too.

Our lesson starts at 9.00 A.M and finishes at 12.30. First, Jeff says hello via skype on the projector. After that, we read course overview and welcome page. Then, we complete EFL 537 entrance questions. One on one skype meetings. When we have complete these, we begin individual skype meetings with Jeff one at a time.During the lesson, I feel a bit nervous although I work with computer everyday about 3 to 4 hours. I often search on Google to read news or to send mail to my friends , but I don't often chat. Today the lesson is very interesting because I have a chance to talk with you.

I know this course is very challenging, confusing, exciting and overwhelming. I hope it's OK , we'll work together to overcome challenges and clear up confusion.

We have to look at each guide and complete the tasks at the bottom of the page during the course. we have 8 assignments.I hope I'll learn lots of experience from you and my classmates after this course
